Hand pollinating tomatoes with an electric toothbrush is a simple and effective method to ensure fruit set, especially in indoor or greenhouse conditions where natural pollinators like bees may be scarce. To do this, turn on the electric toothbrush and gently touch the back of the tomato flower near its stem (the anther cone). The vibrations mimic the buzzing of a bee, shaking loose the pollen and allowing it to transfer within the flower to fertilize the ovary. This technique helps boost pollination and can lead to higher yields.
